Science and technology are progressing a lot faster these days due to the work of many more people. In a few decades the world will seem like a foreign place from our present perspective.
We live during the time of the transition to the transhuman era. We’re developing more skills toward these ends and adapting to the onrush. To stay on top of the wave, it’s important that we don’t miss its key events. One of those events is the Global Future 2045 congress at the Alice Tully Hall, Lincoln Center, New York, June 15-16, 2013.
Spread the word and tell futurists, indefinite life extensionists and transhumanists you know. Give them the chance to go and inform their like-minded friends and acquaintances, too.
Events like Global Future 2045 are important for a variety of reasons. In addition to having a fun time and learning about the latest advancements from the greatest thinkers, researchers and scientists, your attendance shows support. As an advocate it’s important to stand up and be counted. Bring friends with you, as many as you can. The more people who go, the more publicity the event will garner. Spreading the word means press, media, bloggers, and all the closet transhumanists will begin to pay attention to the topic. We need momentum to change the world for the better, as Global Future 2045 is an event the world can’t afford to miss.
See Global Future 2045 speaker Ed Boyden. He has discovered how to insert light-sensitive proteins into neurons so they can be turned on and off with fiber optic implants. This is incredible, forward-moving work will surely improve the human condition for the better. Boyden will speak about extending ourselves beyond our brains, which is something you don’t want to miss.
Speaker George Church is a genetics pioneer and endorses the SENS Foundation in its work to defeat aging. Last year he released his book Regenesis: How Synthetic Biology Will Reinvent Nature and Ourselves.
Artificial Intelligence pioneer and founder of the AI laboratory at MIT, Marvin Minsky, in an essay published in the book The Scientific Conquest of Death, writes:
Everyone wants wisdom and wealth. Nevertheless, our health often gives out before we achieve them.To lengthen our lives, and improve our minds, in the future we will need to change our bodies and brains. To that end, we first must consider how normal Darwinian evolution brought us to where we are. Then we must imagine ways in which future replacements for worn body parts might solve most problems of failing health. We must then invent strategies to augment our brains and gain greater wisdom. Eventually we will entirely replace our brains – using nanotechnology. Once delivered from the limitations of biology, we will be able to decide the length of our lives – with the option of immortality – and choose among other, unimagined capabilities as well…
The line-up is diverse, with over two dozen speakers, and covers the topics from a variety of unique angles. From these topics, attendees will gain first-hand insight into the ambitious Avatar Project, a multi-layered initiative that works to improve the human condition in incredible new ways. It is endorsed by the Dalai Lama, who says:
So up to now the matter side of science has been highly technical, highly advanced, but the mind side has not been adequate. This project, definitely, is helpful to get more knowledge.
This expedited project can reach its goals in time for people like us to benefit from it. If we were to compare loving life to loving ice cream, then it’s like the only flavor we’ve tasted so far is vanilla;the Avatar Project is like the Ben and Jerry’s of life.
As founder and conference organizer Dmitry Itskov says:
The mission of GF2045 is to shape the imminent capability for self-directed evolution into a strategy to benefit all of mankind.
The limited-time discount, through April 14th, is $650 general and $350 student. Use this code here to get an additional 10% off: GF2045-ES.
Would you have wanted to see Martin Luther King Jr. speak if you had the opportunity? How about being there for John F. Kennedy’s speech about sending humanity to the moon? That’s why you can’t afford to miss Global Future 2045.
